Job Summary
We are seeking a professional Security Officer to join our team. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to create a safe and secure environment. The ideal candidate has experience with public safety and security and operates with a high degree of integrity at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Access Control: Monitor and control access to the property, checking identification and authorizing entry as needed.
- Surveillance: Maintain constant surveillance of the entry/exit points and report suspicious activities to the Security Supervisor.
- Visitor Management: Register and assist visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel, ensuring adherence to security protocols
- Incident Reporting: Document and report security incidents, safety hazards, and unusual occurrences in a timely manner.
- Communication: Coordinate effectively with other security personnel and communicate all relevant information via radio or designated communication systems.
- Emergency Response: Assist in emergency situations, including fire, medical, and evacuation protocols.
- Documentation: Maintain logs and records of gatehouse activities, visitor entries, and security incidents.
- Customer Service: Provide professional and courteous assistance to employees, guests, and vendors entering the facility.
- Adherence to Protocols: Follow all company and client-specific security procedures, safety protocols, and legal requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Must have a valid FL driver’s license.
- Must have a valid D license number that is in good standing.
- MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS
- Previous experience as a Security Guard or in a similar position is preferred
- High school diploma/GED
- Strong understanding of public safety and security procedures
- Excellent written communication skills and report writing ability
- Ability to operate surveillance equipment
- High level of integrity and professionalism
- Attention to detail and strong observational skills
- Ability to work without direct supervision
