Role Overview
A well-established skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing Services (DNS) to lead clinical operations and nursing practice. This role combines strategic leadership with a visible, hands-on presence, supporting high-quality resident care, strong team engagement, and regulatory excellence.
The organization is supported by a robust clinical leadership structure, including a dedicated Quality Assurance Nurse, allowing the DNS to focus on leadership, staff development, and clinical outcomes.
Leadership Scope
- Skilled Nursing Facility environment
- Oversees approximately 40–50 nursing staff, including CNAs, LPNs, and RNs
- Collaborates with an interdisciplinary leadership team
- Provides clinical oversight, mentorship, and operational leadership
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop nursing teams with a focus on engagement, retention, and performance
- Oversee daily clinical operations and ensure high standards of resident care
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and accreditation standards
- Partner with interdisciplinary teams to deliver resident-centered services
- Support quality initiatives and operational excellence
- Participate in on-call rotation and leadership coverage as required
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Strong skilled nursing facility (SNF) experience
- Proven nursing leadership experience in long-term care or rehabilitation settings
- Ability to lead large, multidisciplinary clinical teams
- Hands-on, visible leadership style
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or healthcare preferred
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary range: $126,000 – $166,400
