Job Description The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day accounts payable transactions including processing invoices, validating invoice coding and approvals, and matching to purchase orders. Main responsibilities include processing invoices, validating invoice coding and approvals, and matching to purchase orders Process invoices for utilities, property tax, HOA, insurance and normal operating activity Knowledge of capitalization policy for proper coding Obtain W-9s from vendors prior to payment; assist with distribution of 1099s Assist with vendor account reconciling as requested Assist with month end closing ensuring work orders/invoices are closed or matched to a purchase order Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances Provide supporting documentation for audits. Maintain vendor files. Identify and research outstanding invoices Qualifications: Knowledge of Yardi accounting platform a major plus Proficiency with Excel Knowledge of general bookkeeping and accounting Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements 2 years of successful experience in an accounts payable position Prior property management experience a plus Previous customer service background Minimum Requirements: High school diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred.
