Required Education
- Understand signs, symptoms, and data related to patients' presenting needs.
- Recognize and appropriately report abnormal data and changes in patients' conditions to physicians and charge RNs.
- Utilize handoff methods to collaborate with healthcare team members, communicating pertinent physiological and psychological data.
- Assess patient, family, and environment for safety risks, proactively performing safety initiatives.
- Provide ongoing, individualized holistic patient and family education based on needs with the multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate critical thinking when reviewing physician orders, making appropriate referrals, and contacting other health team professionals.
- Respond to emergency situations requiring immediate, controlled precision skillfully.
- Implement measures to prevent contamination and transmission of disease, using appropriate protective devices and equipment.
- Function as a scrub assistant to cardiologists/radiologists, adhering to sterile technique principles and aiding in diagnostic/interventional procedures.
- Set up sterile trays and specialized equipment according to procedures.
- Maintain hemostasis of vessels post-procedure using compression devices, closure devices, or manual compression, recognizing potential problems and taking corrective actions.
- Maintain competency in arterial and venous sheath removal techniques and groin management.
- Demonstrate knowledge of department policies regarding radiation safety when using x-ray equipment.
- Provide proper radiation protection for patients, self, and others, including the use of lead aprons, lead gloves, and gonadal shielding.
- Properly screen females of childbearing age for possible pregnancy.
- Wear radiation dosimetry badges correctly, exchange badges monthly, and review/sign monthly dosimetry reports.
Required Skills & Experience
- 1-2 years of previous experience in the field.
- Good understanding of cardiovascular and peripheral anatomy to support learning stimulator role during complex ablations.
- Responsible for meeting individual education and training requirements.
- Participates in on-call coverage as required.
- Possesses a high level of professionalism and the ability to establish good relationships with patients, staff, and physicians.

Required Education
- Graduate from an accredited school of Radiological Technology.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT(R)).
- Valid Ohio Radiologic License.
