Staff Site Reliability Engineer (NRG Energy, Inc. (f/k/a Vivint LLC), Provo, UT)
Utilize software engineering and systems administration to ensure the scalability, performance, and reliability of large-scale, cloud-based application and infrastructure. Design, implement, improve, and maintain infrastructure for containerized, microservice, and visualization environments. Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large, distributed software applications. Troubleshoot and debug issues with a focus on resolving problems quickly with minimal impact to customers and developers. Build tools to improve developer productivity and contribute ideas to continuously improve technology. Manage processes, systems, and infrastructure, leveraging best practices and security. Monitor and manage service reliability, availability, and performance. Support and troubleshoot Linux and Windows Virtual Machines and Containers. Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications. Improve reliability, quality, and uptime of software and infrastructure solutions. Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve. Position is 100% remote and reports to HQ in Provo, Utah. Salary:$150,738 - $210,000 per year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or U.S. equivalent in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or any occupation/position/job title performing DevOps software engineering and systems administration to ensure the scalability, performance, and reliability of large-scale, cloud-based applications and infrastructure.
In lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience, the employer will accept a Master's degree or U.S. equivalent in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, plus 3 years of professional experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or any occupation/position/job title performing DevOps software engineering and systems administration to ensure the scalability, performance, and reliability of large-scale, cloud-based applications and infrastructure.
Must also have experience in the following: 3 years of professional experience utilizing code management and deployment processes including Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD), procedures, and tools including Jenkins; 3 years of professional experience utilizing .Net, and source management tools including Git and Bitbucket; 3 years of professional experience utilizing scripting languages including Python, Go, JavaScript, and Groovy; 3 years of professional experience utilizing containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes; 3 years of professional experience performing development, system administration, and system administrator cloud across Unix, Window, and Networking; and 3 years of professional experience utilizing hypervisor technology and secure implementation.
