* Responsible for using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, processing prescriptions, and checking for possible interactions. Ensures that all information is entered accurately and in a timely manner.
* Under the supervision of the pharmacist, is responsible for the accurate and timely filling of prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceuticals, verifying the correct medication. Assists the pharmacist in maintaining an efficient work flow.
* Responsible for the immediate reporting of any medication errors or quality issues to the Pharmacist on Duty, the Pharmacy Manager, and or the Director of Pharmacy.
* Responsible and accountable for registering all sales on the cash register, collecting and handling cash as required.
* Responsible for processing (correcting and resubmitting) any manual claims for third party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner.
* Assists and supports the Pharmacy with inventory management activities such as: ordering, unpacking, checking-in, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals and supplies. Files claims for overages (items received, but not billed), shortages (items billed, but not received), and any order errors or damaged items.
* Participates effectively as a team member by being accountable, helpful, and welcoming to co-workers, providers, patients, and customers.
* Participates in orientation and staff development activities as requested.
Compliance Statement
* Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program. Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Hotline.
