Staff Accountant

Tarvos Talent is seeking a Senior Accountant located in Downtown Houston. Responsibilities:

• The Senior Accountant will primarily focus on regulatory reporting and analysis, with a portion of their time dedicated to standard accounting processes and procedures, including accruals and reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit quarterly and annual FERC and state financial reports.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure the accuracy of reported financial statements.
• Analyze financial statements and provide explanations for variances and fluctuations.
• Perform monthly account reconciliation and resolve outstanding discrepancies.
• Process month-end journal entries and accurately determine the amount for accruals.
• Assist with the preparation of required audit documentation.

Requirements:

• 5 years of experience in an oil and gas regulatory reporting role, with knowledge of FERC, SCC, GAAP, and analytical reporting.
• Accounting background with experience in account reconciliation.
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with any ERP system.
