Dispatcher Job Description –
The dispatcher is a key member of the team and is responsible for managing the driver experience by providing a high level of service. Our drivers are independent contractors, not employees. There is no forced dispatch, which requires the dispatcher to build a relationship of trust and respect with their drivers. The ideal candidate needs to have a high level of integrity, professionalism, constant positive attitude, and the ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

Goals
- Maintain high level of service and positive attitude when talking with drivers.
- Provide organized support in scheduling, routing, tracking, and invoicing.
- Dispatch drivers across the US and Canada.
- Work with drivers to resolve breakdowns and pickup delays.
- Manage driver finances and ensure drivers are paid on-time and accurately.
- Coordinate with other departments including sales, safety, claims and accounting.
- Contribute to a positive work environment.
- Manage daily schedule to maximize results.
- Meet all outlined individual and team expectations for performance.
Qualifications
- College degree or one year of dispatch experience
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities and competing deadlines
- Highly organized, detail oriented and effective under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to provide valuable and timely customer service to candidates, hiring managers and senior level management
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures, with intermediate computer skills
- Prior dispatching, driver management or logistics experience is ideal
- Transportation industry knowledge preferred but not required
