Workday Technical Payroll Contractor Role Overview Location: Menlo Park CA or Toronto Rate: $60/hr on C2C Visa: Any Visa (No H1B) We are seeking a Workday Technical Payroll Contractor with Workday Studio expertise to join our team. This role is designed for a technical "heavy hitter" who thrives in a fast-paced, high-velocity environment. Work Arrangement: This position has a strong preference for candidates able to work onsite 3 days per week at our office. This onsite presence is critical for real-time collaboration with our Payroll and Finance stakeholders during high-intensity pay cycles and project sprints. Key Responsibilities ● Advanced Integration Development: Design, build, and maintain complex, bi-directional integrations using Workday Studio, specifically focusing on payroll data exchange with third-party providers. ● High-Speed Troubleshooting: Serve as the technical escalation point for critical payroll errors. Perform rapid root-cause analysis on Studio assembly failures, PECI/PICOF discrepancies, and XML/XSLT issues. ● Complex Configuration: Manage the technical setup of earnings, deductions, and pay groups, utilizing advanced Calculated Fields to handle intricate math and logic requirements. ● Onsite Collaboration: Partner directly with the Payroll team 3 days a week to troubleshoot "live" issues, participate in whiteboard architecture sessions, and lead UAT sessions. ● Data Transformation: Utilize XSLT, Java, and MVEL within Workday Studio to handle sophisticated data mapping and transformation requirements for global payroll compliance. ● Performance Tuning: Optimize existing Studio integrations to ensure they run efficiently within Workday’s runtime limits. Technical Requirements & Environment Fit Payroll Framework - Deep knowledge of Workday Payroll, including PECI, PICOF, and Cloud Connect. Development Tools - Proficiency in XML, XSLT, XPath, and Web Services (SOAP, REST). Availability - Ability to be onsite 3 days per week (Strongly Preferred).Professional Attributes ● Urgency & Accuracy: You understand that in payroll, "late" is not an option. You work quickly but maintain a near-zero error rate. ● Agile Mindset: You can pivot quickly between working independently on technical builds and collaborating in-person with the broader HRIS team. ● Effective Communicator: Ability to translate complex Studio logic into clear status updates for non-technical stakeholders.
