Your Opportunity:
TechSource is hiring a full-time Fire Protection Engineer to support the Savannah River Site (SRS). In this role, you will provide design engineering support to the site, including weekly field walk downs of the job site. This is a fully onsite work at the SRS site, located in Aiken, SC.
Primary responsibilities:
- Provide design engineering staff augmentation support to Savannah River Nuclear Solutions site, located in Aiken, SC.
- Provide engineering task analysis, walk-downs, design development and generation of design output documents including but not limited to: Location Plans, Connection Diagrams, Conduit / Block Diagrams, Logic Diagrams, Panel Detail Drawings, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, and Battery Loading Calculations in accordance with national consensus codes and standards.
- Provide technical support to site construction forces, start-up & testing, suppliers or subcontract personnel.
- Prepare Data Sheets, Statements of Work, Procurement Specifications, Design Build Specifications, and Purchase Requisitions.
- Engineering services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.
Job requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in fire engineering.
- PE licensed FE; certified by Society of Direct Protection Engineers; or Professional or Fellow Member in the SFPE (Society of Fire Protection Engineers)
- 10 ore more years of design experience, with at least 4 years of fire alarm, detection, and signaling design experience.
- Working knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, such as NFPA 13, NFPA 70, NFPA 72, NFPA 90A, NFPA 101, IBC, and other ISA and IEEE standards.
- Experience with 2D MicroStation CADD
Preferred:
- Previous Savannah River Site (SRS) Design Engineering or DOE facility experience.
- Proficiency in 2D MicroStation CADD software.
- Recent DOE or DoD security clearance.
Salary : $140,000 - $165,000
