What are the responsibilities and job description for the Merchandising Intern - Internal Opportunity position at Tecovas?

Tecovas is looking for an Allocation intern to support allocation tasks and contribute meaningfully to ongoing projects while working in a highly collaborative and cross-functional corporate setting. Reporting directly to the Allocation Manager, you will develop skills in inventory management, data analysis, project management and problem-solving. Additionally, you gain practical experience in retail operations and supply chain optimization.
What you’ll do:
- Assist and support with inventory allocation tasks and projects
- Build store-level analysis tools for reporting
- Explore opportunities for process improvement with our 3PL to expedite product delivery to stores
- Analyze selling data to optimize inventory availability
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to develop pre-pack shipping options
- Create an allocation hindsight form to refine allocation strategies
- Complete and present a final internship project that applies your learnings from your internship and provides value to the company
What we’re looking for:
- Current and active Tecovas employee
- Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university
- Majoring in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Analytics or related field
- Working knowledge of Excel
- Strong analytical skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Eager to learn and take initiative
- Adaptable and flexible in a fast-paced environment
