Principal Function: Help ensure excellent guest experiences in the dining room by maintaining high levels of cleanliness in the kitchen and dining room, including tables, chairs, floors, food preparation areas, kitchen equipment, and dishes. Assist with food preparation for meals.
Essential Functions: (Employee must be spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally able to fulfill these assignments and tasks to fill this position.)
- Carry out assigned ministry with “Christ-Like Servant Spirit”, guided by TBMB mission, priorities, strategies, and goals.
- Provide support and assistance to Conference Center and other groups within the organization, while building and maintaining positive working relationships.
- Contribute to all phases of responsibilities to the Mission and Objectives of the organization as a team-player.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Practice proper sanitation and safety guidelines
- Serving and interacting with guests during meals and other duties
- Assist other kitchen staff in cleaning, sanitizing and organization of kitchen.
- Provide impeccable customer service to guests and other staff members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements for Individual in Position:
- Frequently lifts and carries up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifts, and carries 26 to 50 pounds. Must be able to bend and stand for extended periods of time.
- Work with chemicals and fumes while using cleaners.
- Position requires being around moving machinery and cooking equipment, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity.
- Frequently walks extended distances, stands, and sits, bends, squats, crawls, reaches, kneels, balances, pushes and pulls.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications for Applicants:
Credentials and experience:
- Education: High school diploma, GED, or currently attending high school.
- Experience: Experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, cleaning; or, willing to learn.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding and knowledge of a functioning kitchen
- Ability to work in high-energy and demanding environment
- Ability to follow directions
- Ability to work in a team environment
