TeraFlex manufactures components for the Jeep Wrangler including premium suspension systems and performance shocks, heavy-duty axles and low-range gearing, body armor, and more. With our roots dating back to the 1950s beginning as MEPCO (Military Equipment Parts Company), a distributor of Jeep parts and accessories, we have gained a vast knowledge of the various CJ/Wrangler platforms.

In the fall of 1996, TeraFlex began manufacturing parts in-house to fulfill the need for heavy-duty off-road suspension pieces and equipment for the then-new TJ Wrangler. Our experience and knowledge have allowed us to create the unique and innovative parts and accessories that fill out our product line today, ensuring TeraFlex’s dominant hold on the Jeep market.

General Job Summary

This position is responsible for the preparing and assembling of axle housings by utilizing the necessary equipment and tools provided.  Processes include and are not limited to, lathe work, presses (horizontal/vertical), setting fixtures, welding, sand blasting, and cleaning. Other fabrication may include utilizing a press brake, a fiber laser, and shop and hand tools.  

Qualifications

Required skills, certifications, qualifications, etc.

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Familiarity with shop tools and power equipment.
• 1 years of welding experience

Key responsibilities, duties, functions

• The Axle Technician will build full axles by following the assigned work order and by following instructions and standards set by Engineering.  On-the-job training will be provided.
• Operate equipment including lathes, press, welders, bead blaster, brakes, laser, drills, grinders, and other shop tools.
• Communicates with Manager to obtain work orders.  
• Communicates with Manager immediately for any issues that may delay completion of work orders. 
• Report machinery defects or malfunctions to Manager.
• Keep work areas and stations clean and presentable to maintain a safe and positive working condition.
• Maintains and is accountable for all Teraflex owned tools and manuals. Returns tools to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
• Understands and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal.
• Employees are required to complete New Hire Orientation.
• Employees should comply with all safety guidelines established by the Safety Director and as outlined by OSHA.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift 75 lbs
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Capable to drive forklift (Training onsite)
• In a warehouse and shop environment.  Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
