About the Farm
Teton Full Circle Farm is a 20-acre certified biodynamic and organic Farm in Teton Valley, ID. On these 20 acres, we cultivate 2 acres in flowers, herbs and vegetables, 1/4 acre in hoophouse production, and 3 acres in windbreak, orchard, and native plants. We raise 10 acres of hay and 5 acres of pasture for our cows. Through cultivating the land and sharing its abundance, we hope to strengthen our community’s resilience and deepen its relationship to the natural world.
Overview of Job
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Farm Crew Member to join our biodynamic, organic farm team. This role involves hands-on work in various aspects of farm operations, including all aspects of field vegetable, flower and medicinal herb production, animal care (cows and chickens), and general farm upkeep. The ideal candidate will have a passion for small scale farming, with experience or interest in biodynamic and organic vegetable, flower and medicinal herb production, animal husbandry, and sustainable farming practices. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop foundational skills in a diverse farm environment.
Hours and Commitment
Minimum- Maximum Hours per week: 21-38 per week
Dates: April 27th- October 29th
Qualifications/Experience
- Strong interest in organic and/or biodynamic small scale farming.
- Prior experience (with strong references) in farming, agriculture, or horticulture is preferred
- Punctual, self-motivated, detail oriented
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude even when the work is difficult
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Supervising experience is beneficial for leadership roles on the farm team
- Physical strength and endurance to perform hard work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to receive feedback, take direction, ask questions when anything is unclear
- Knows how to hustle with a sense of positive urgency
Responsibilities
- Become skilled in all aspects of field vegetable, flower and medicinal herb production including sowing, transplanting, bed preparation, crop maintenance, harvesting, irrigation, and pasture maintenance
- Maintain and manage irrigation systems (handline and drip) for pasture, crops and greenhouses
- May need to supervise other team members providing guidance on use of hand tools and and appropriate methods for task completion
- Assist with the operation of greenhouses and horticultural activities to support plant growth
- Assist with animal husbandry tasks, including feeding, watering, rotate grazing and handling cows and chicken
- May be asked to oversee the farm one weekend a month, caring for animals, moving irrigation, watering starts and venting greenhouses as needed.
