This is an enormous topic and covers spatial scales from atmospheric chemistry, aerosol particles, air pollution, cloud particles, with radii of microns, to large-scale atmospheric waves, with length scales of thousands of kilometers. Topics studied in the department include the physics of convection, climate variability, feedback physics, climate sensitivity, climate extremes, and regional modeling. Variability and predictability of climate on seasonal to millennial timescales, coupled ocean-atmosphere interaction, large-scale dynamics of the atmosphere and the oceans. What We Want The Lead Office Assistant will be responsible for all duties related to the front office: answering the main line, scheduling of rooms, assisting the faculty with various needs, maintaining equipment and supply inventory, assist with meetings, seminars and special events. What You Need to Know Salary: $15.96 per hour Required Education: High School Diploma or any equivalent combination of education and experience Required Experience: Two years of experience in general office or clerical work Preferred Education: Associate degree Preferred Experience: Ability to work with faculty, staff and students in an educational setting Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of spreadsheet and database applications Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others Effective verbal and written communication skills Responsibilities: TRAVEL/SPECIAL EVENTS: Assists departmental staff with planning of meetings, seminars and other special events. This may include travel arrangements, scheduling rooms, serve as a hostess or greeter for the event. Provides assistance to faculty by preparing flyers, preparing itineraries and other related functions. RECEPTIONIST/CUSTOMER SERVICE: Greets all visitors to the department, answering the main phone line, and directing calls to appropriate personnel. Evaluates incoming mail, correspondence and inquires, and assists in problem solving for office activities. Assists Business Coordinator with maintaining and ordering office supplies. INVENTORY AND RECORDS RETENTION: Assists the Senior Administrative Coordinator with inventory and confidential records and files, uploading documents into Laserfiche, and/or shredding of documents as needed. Maintains departmental list, such as phone and contact list for faculty, staff and students each semester and performs other duties as assigned.
