What You Need To Know
Salary: $45,000.00 - $46,924.80/annually (Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire's experience)

Position Details: This position will require travel. This position may require work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends. This position is located in Laredo, Texas.

Required Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years of related experience in student services, admissions, recruitment, or financial aid
- Knowledge of financial aid programs and federal regulations relating to student financial aid
- Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal, and written communication skills with individuals or in a group setting
- Must possess strong organization skills
- Ability to work well with students and parents
- Ability to use word processing and spreadsheet programs
- Ability to work well under pressure in a team environment
- More than two years of professional experience in higher education admissions, recruitment, student advising, student financial aid or student services related position
- Experience in giving presentations to large groups.
- Participation in programs or other professional organizations related to admissions, recruitment, student advising, student financial aid or student services.
- Proficiency in student information systems
- Master's Degree

- Recruits students from designated high schools and regions
- Guides students and parents through admissions, scholarships, and financial aid
- Resolves issues and follows up on questions
- Coordinates with high school counselors
- Organizes recruitment activities and manages logistics
- Travels for visits, job fairs, and presentations
- Collaborates with organizations like Phi Theta Kappa and Aggie Clubs
- Advises students on financial needs and budgeting
- Conducts group presentations on financial aid and scholarships
- Works with the Financial Aid Office to adjust awards
- Engages with high school staff to enhance student counseling
- Develops early awareness programs for recruitment and financial aid
- Conducts presentations and works at resource tables
- Builds community contacts and university relationships
- Creates admissions and financial aid materials
- Presents at conferences
- Learns university policies and opportunities
- Attends workshops and conferences
- Serves on committees
- Uses university systems like Banner and AIS
- Mentors and trains peer advisors
- Guides peer advisors in building relationships
- Takes on leadership roles in professional associations
- Coordinates major office programs
