Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in records management, library science, administration or related field with one year’s experience preferred. High school/G.E.D. diploma required.
Valid driver’s license and meet agency underwriting standards.

As a Records Specialist, you will provide records support to Agency staff; ensure agency records are properly stored and maintained; accomplish day-to-day closed records management.
- Responsible for the Agencies closed file records including but not limited to:
-Youth Files (RFS, Reintegration, Preservation, BH)
-Foster Family Files
-Financial Files
-Human Resource Files
-Administrative Files
-Quality Improvement Files
- Handles record management and storage requirements at the Topeka records site.
- Coordinates movement of paper files to and from storage with local office staff.
- Coordinates the retention of any electronic files with the MIS Department.
- Ensures proper and timely document destruction according to agency policies and procedures.
- Responsible for document retrieval when requested by staff, subpoenaed, etc.
- Maintains a document database so that records are entered, maintained and tracked according to needs.
- Responsible for the security of records in storage.
- Assumes the role of Procedure Coordinator for the Agency.
- Ensures timely posting of approved policies, procedures, and forms on the Intranet.
- Will be required to travel in order to attend meetings, training, or conduct business off site. Must have a valid driver's license and meet agency underwriting standards if driving on agency business. Not required to transport clients.
- Refrains from assuming any duty that is unrelated to or interferes with the responsibilities of the position.
