Clinics within the West region that applicants will need to be comfortable commuting to and working at based on business needs:
Seminole, Tyrone, 4th Strt. (St Petersburg), Downtown at Water Street, and South Tampa
The position will stay open until all vacancies have successfully been filled.
What you will do:
The Medical Receptionist is the first initial point of contact for each person that comes into the clinic. The Medical Receptionist undertakes all receptionist and clerical duties at the front desk of our main entrance of the clinic.
Requirements
Position Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and friendly manner
- Provide prompt communication to patients
- Assist patients with required patient forms
- Verify patient demographics and insurance benefits
- Perform billing and bookkeeping functions including collecting cash payments, posting and balancing daily sheets of transactions, and bank deposits
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records
- Answer phone calls timely and in a professional and friendly manner using provided guidelines
- Complete required trainings through LMS platform
- Assist team members as needed
- Demonstrate empathetic and superior communication skills
- Display outstanding customer service and patient care
- Present a positive and team orientated attitude
- Effectively act as a liaison between patients and providers
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Understand order of urgency and time management
- Ability to follow established office routines and policies
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Understand the ethics of confidentiality/HIPAA laws
- Mentally alert and focused
- Patient, courteous, and present a neat and friendly appearance
- Complete required trainings as assigned by the organization
Position Must Haves:
- Minimum of 1 years of proven experience as receptionist, customer service representative or relevant position.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
- Outstanding customer service focus
- Attentive to the clinic environment and patients
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet organization’s needs as well as effective problem-solving skills
- Fast learner with general understanding of medical terminology and ethics of confidentiality/ HIPAA laws.
Education Requirements:
- Computer savvy with working knowledge of multiple healthcare computer platforms, knowledge of EMR systems i.e. (eClinicalWorks) or EPIC strongly preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Work Environment & Schedule:
- This job operates in a professional medical office environment.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
- Saturday- Sunday, 7:45am-8pm, 40 hours a week, full time
- Alternating weekends
- May require overtime and travel within assigned region and at times outside of assigned region, depending upon patient volume and region/clinic needs
- Sedentary, sitting for extended periods of time
- Consistent use throughout shift of technology to complete assigned work tasks
- Frequent use of working on a computer to complete assigned work tasks
- Flexibility to help at clinics within the region as requested
