Development Associate- (Temp to Perm)
Location: Upper East Side, Manhattan
We are recruiting for a nonprofit organization in need of a Development Assoicate. In this role you would be responsible for providing vital support to the teams, helping drive donor engagement and supporting the organization's mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the Development team, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and managing supplies.
- Manage acknowledgment processes for major, board, capital, and special campaign gifts, ensuring timely and personalized communication with donors.
- Support the production/management of mailings for major gifts, planned giving, and special campaigns (solicitations, renewals, appeals).
- Prepare donor gift invoices and commitment forms for the major gifts team.
- Pull lists for major gift solicitations and manage the solicitation calendar.
- Compile and assist with reports/proposals for gift officers, including editing and routing.
- Track donor outreach and assist with maintaining records/solicitation plans.
- Field donor inquiries and provide excellent customer service via phone.
- Support special projects/events and assist with donor research and prospecting as needed.
- Reconcile team expenses in Blackbaud in accordance with financial policies.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss donor prospects and strategies.
- Assist with data entry in Tessitura to ensure complete and accurate donor information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Prefer 1-3 years of experience within a development or nonprofit office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and professionalism.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Interpersonal skills with the diplomacy to interact with major and high-profile donors.
- Team-oriented, collaborative worker who can contribute to a positive work environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with Tessitura or similar CRM systems is a plus.
