QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Strong knowledge of literacy instruction
2. Ability to work with small groups of students
3. An understanding of how to differentiate instruction
4. Ability to collaborate and work with a team
5. Teaching experience preferred
6. Training/certification and experience with evidence-based, systematic specialized reading programs preferred.
REPORTS TO: Principal and Director of Pupil Services
JOB GOAL: To support students to be successful in specialized reading instruction
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Plan specialized reading lessons using systematic-evidence-based practices
2. Work collaboratively with other professionals and paraprofessionals to support the needs of students
3. Write quarterly progress reports in accordance with IEP goals and objectives or other individualized plan
4. Communicate effectively with teachers and service providers regarding the needs of students
Tutors follow the school calendar.

Job Requirements
Interventionists/Tutors work collaboratively with the teachers to provide support within a small group setting for students who are demonstrating challenges with math and/or literacy. Tutors also work with teachers to provide enrichment opportunities for those students who are demonstrating advanced skills. Qualified candidates will be able to differentiate their instruction and provide high-quality lessons that engage each student. Qualified candidates will be able to use data to assess student progress and inform instruction. Qualified candidates will be able to collaborate and work as a member of a professional team.
At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
Bachelor degree preferred.
