Job Summary:
Through a strong Christian worldview, provides high-quality early childhood education and care while maintaining a safe, supportive, stimulating, and educational environment to children ages 3-5.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This role does not currently supervise other staff; however, this role will supervise volunteers and interns as applicable.
- Coaches, corrects, rewards, recognizes, and reviews volunteers and interns in accordance with TCM’s Core Values & policies.
Essential Job Functions:
Implements and Assesses Education Plans
- Plans and implements gospel-centered lessons, bible-based character development, field trips, and developmentally appropriate activities that promote children’s social, developmental, spiritual, and educational growth. Emphasis on kindergarten readiness.
- Collaborates with case management in the identification, implementation, and tracking of Individual Service Plans with measurable goals and outcomes for each child.
- Performs and tracks monthly assessments that measure developmental milestones of children and makes recommendations on any developmental concerns.
- Communicates with moms concerning children’s development and behavior.
Maintains and Supports Educational Environment
- Is responsible for children’s health, safety, and physical needs.
- Regularly assesses the needs of the room to ensure supplies and equipment are clean and up to date.
- Provides support in maintaining integrity of operating practices, recordkeeping, report writing, attendance systems and data control for the childcare area.
- Provides material resources for mothers with children.
Family Ministries Department Support
- Assists in the infant and toddler rooms, ages 0-2, as the census dictates.
- Assists Pathways staff with field trips, Pathways after school program, or teen club as the census dictates.
- Provides support for Family Ministries team and TCM special events as needed.
