What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Services Setup [Part-Time] position at The Classic Center?
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
As a team member, Part-time Event Setup is responsible for performing seamless event experiences at our growing convention center. Your mission? To transform routine tasks into extraordinary moments. The Event Services Setup Team are responsible for turning logistical challenges into show-stopping events.
TYPICAL WORK ROUTINE INCLUDES, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Works as a team member to achieve tasks associated with the Operations Department
- Extensive walking throughout the facility and facility grounds
- Completes room sets according to diagrams
- Lifts moderate to heavy amounts of weight in the form of tables, chairs, stanchions, staging and step units, dance floor panels, and exhibition materials
- Pushes equipment carts, pallets, and staging/step units as required
- Maintains and cleans equipment storage and service hall areas
- Competes tasks in compliance with basic safety guidelines
- Works in cooperation with all Operations Crew Members and performs any additional related tasks and non-routine duties as required
- Maintains public image of the Operations Department at all times when in service to The Classic Center
- Works in cooperation with all employees at The Classic Center to extend hospitality to the guests, customers and co-workers
The candidate who is selected for this position will have to successfully pass a drug screening and a criminal background check.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Up to one (1) year experience in a set-up or related position.
- Up to one (1) year experience in a custodial/housekeeping position.
- Ability to demonstrate basic set-up techniques with a working knowledge of set-up principles, procedures, and equipment use.
- Ability to demonstrate basic cleaning techniques.
- Ability to perform manual tasks requiring physical strength and perform reasonably heavy labor.
- Ability to operate heavy mechanized equipment.
- Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions accurately.
- Related training and experience gained which offers a further understanding of set-up, custodial, house- and grounds-keeping techniques is desirable.
