We are currently searching for an experienced Development Associate. This is a full-time exempt position, with a salary range of $45,000 to $55,000.

Requirements
SUMMARY
We are seeking a Development Associate to assist the development team in carrying out the day-to-day fund development activities. This entry-level position is a mandated reporter for child abuse and neglect under District of Columbia Statute §4-1321.02.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent experience
· Desire to learn and grow as a fundraising professional
· Excellent writing and editing skills
· Razor-sharp detail orientation and excellent organizational skills
· Goal-oriented, strong initiative, and ability to work independently to achieve goals.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Associate’s or bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
· Educational experience related to social work, mental health, non-profit management, or similar fields
· 1-2 years of professional fundraising experience.
· Prior experience working or volunteering for a child-serving institution.
COMPUTER/TECHNOLOGY SKILLS
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and in Zoom. Experience with fund-development databases/CRMs or database administration (Bloomerang) is preferred, but not required.
PRIMARY DUTIES
· Ensures accurate record keeping by entering all fundraising data into the CRM system, including all donor contacts, contributions, and payments.
· Assists with data collection and reporting as needed, including preparing monthly accounting reports.
· Prepares timely personalized acknowledgment letters, pledge reminders, and invoices to donors.
· Provides logistical support for fundraising and cultivation events: Manages vendor relations, drafts, and tracks invites, prepares materials, conducts tours, and assists with set-up and break-down of events.
· Works with program staff to implement seasonal donation drives and assists with the in-kind donation process.
· Assists with prospect research by compiling and summarizing information on new funding prospects.
· Draft fundraising-related materials, as needed.
· Provides administrative support for grant applications and proposals, as needed.
· Assists with the development and execution of individual and corporate fundraising strategies.
· Assists with bi-weekly donor tours as technical support using Zoom and Microsoft PowerPoint.
OTHER AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY MAY INCLUDE:
· Attend relevant training and stay current on emerging issues and trends related to philanthropy and fundraising.
· Participate in weekly check-ins with supervisor, bi-weekly All Staff meetings, and bi-weekly Department meetings.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is normally performed in a typical interior office work environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to low. Very limited exposure to physical risk. The employee may need to lift or move up to 25 lbs. and navigate stairs.
