– integrates paid work, essential job skills, advanced occupational training, and additional supportive services to facilitate an individual’s return to mainstream society. The Doe Fund has an annual operating budget of $65 million and a full-time staff of 400 , the majority of whom are graduates of our programs.
The Doe Fund is seeking an emerging Development professional, eager to engage the broader community in our critical mission. Reporting to the Vice President of Philanthropic Engagement, the Manager will serve as the direct contact person for our Young Professionals Council, develop and implement meaningful corporate engagement leading to philanthropic grants, collaborate with the Communications team on a robust direct mail strategy, and support the implementation of The Doe Fund special events.

Young Professionals Committee
- Support The Doe Fund’s Young Professionals Committee, currently comprised of 20 professionals representing finance, law, the arts, and other key sectors; support in scheduling meetings and events, providing fundraising collateral and tools, coordinating matching gifts, and more.

Partner with the YPC to develop and implement creative engagement activities, such as mock interviews, gift drives for TDF residents and families, social engagements and more.
Direct Mail Campaign and Individual Giving (FY’24 Target: $3.2 million overall)
- Partner with The Doe Fund’s Communications team to implement up to 10 direct mail campaigns per year, including collaborating on content development, list management, and mail house engagement

Help ensure targets are achieved by tracking progress toward goal and contributing ideas to course correct as necessary

Manage a portfolio of mid-level donors primed to expand ot major donor level through one-on-one engagement, regular programmatic updates, invitations to events and other strategies
Special Events (FY’24 Target: $1.65 million overall)
- Provide significant support on The Doe Fund’s annual gala (spearheaded by the VP of Philanthropic Engagement), including:
Coordinate donor and prospect outreach across multiple internal and external stakeholders
Partner with the team to identify meaningful in-room opportunities to support the organization
Provide logistical support, including supporting the liaison with the venue, coordinating tastings, ensuring timely mailing of materials, responding to donor inquiries, ensuring accurate guest list information and more

Partner with the VP, YPC and broader External Affairs team to develop new and additional fundraising events of varying sizes geared toward distinct constituents.

- Coordinate and implement mock interview events

Provide grant writing support as necessary; While grant writing will not be a core function of this role, we are a collaborative team that pitches in across functions as needed. We will invite the Philanthropic Engagement Coordinator to get up to speed on and support our public and private grant writing work as capacity allows.

The necessary degree of personal and professional confidence and presence to engage with The Doe Fund’s President & CEO, Board of Directors, YPC, leadership staff, participants in The Doe Fund programming, and the broader community;

An ability to adhere to a hybrid schedule, working in person as needed for special events, corporate engagement, donor tours, and other opportunities

Computer literacy and competence with Development software and databases that serve the needs of a Development Department;

A strategic thinker, who has the ability to see “the big picture” while not losing sight of the details in addition to having creative energy and an entrepreneurial spirit;
