Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Doggy Daycare/Kennel Attendant to provide exceptional care and supervision for our canine clients. This role involves ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of dogs during their stay, while maintaining a clean and organized environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
Duties
- Monitor and supervise dogs during playtime and rest periods to ensure safety and appropriate behavior
- Assist with dog training activities to promote good manners and obedience
- Feed, water, and administer medications as needed following established protocols
- Clean and sanitize kennels, play areas, and equipment regularly to uphold hygiene standards
- Perform pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming when required
- Restrain animals safely during examinations or grooming procedures using proper animal handling techniques
- Provide pet sitting services including walking, feeding, and companionship for clients’ pets
- Observe for signs of illness or distress and communicate concerns to management
- Maintain detailed records of each dog’s activities, health status, and behavior
- Communicate with clients during drop off and pick up as well as assist with questions the client may have
Skills
- Experience with dog handling or training preferred, but not required, we will train the right candidate
- Strong animal care knowledge and pet safety protocols
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with clients and their pets
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting large dogs or supplies)
- Animal handling skills with patience and compassion for pets of all temperaments
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment
- Good organizational skills to manage multiple pets and tasks efficiently
