Job Responsibilities:
- Program Development:
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate programs for children.
- Create and maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment.
- Staff Management:
- Recruit, hire, and train qualified staff.
- Provide ongoing supervision, evaluation, and professional development for staff members.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures in accordance with licensing regulations.
- Handle budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation.
- Maintain accurate records, including attendance, enrollment, and children's progress.
- Communication:
- Communicate effectively with parents, keeping them informed about their child's development, activities, and any issues.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure effective communication within the facility.
- Licensing and Compliance:
- Ensure the day care center complies with all licensing and regulatory requirements.
- Stay informed about changes in regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
- Safety and Emergency Preparedness:
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Conduct regular drills to ensure staff and children are prepared for emergencies.
- Quality Improvement:
- Continuously assess and improve the quality of care and educational programs.
- Stay current on early childhood education trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- A bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field is often preferred.
- Experience:
- Several years of experience in child care, including supervisory or management roles.
- Licensing:
- Familiarity with and adherence to state licensing requirements.
- Communication Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
