Associate Student Minister – Missions Evangelism
The Associate Student Minister oversees the development and execution of Wednesday Programing, Mission Trips, and our Student Ministry wide Evangelism Strategy. They are also responsible for the pastoral care of students and leaders, as well as personally engaging in Disciple Making relationships. They position the Student Team for excellence in the execution of minor and major events as well as in the care and shepherding of the student congregation. They help to build up and edify students and leaders through teaching, preaching, training and the curation of resources. They will ensure the Student Ministry is an integrated and healthy part of the larger Heights body, and that the overall mission and vision of the Heights is accomplished in and throughout the Student Ministry.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Give Vision, Direction, and Oversight to Wednesday Nights
- Take ownership of the pre-service environment by creating an engaging and welcoming space that helps guests feel welcome and are fun for current attenders.
- Empower students to take ownership of aspects of Wednesdays through Student Lead Teams.
- Ensure worship spaces are prepared, hospitable, and meeting the needs of individual students.
- Work with Student Ministry Admin to ensure Life Groups are planned and executed within the bounds of the larger church calendar and reservation system.
- Oversee the Guest Follow Up protocol for Wednesday night worship.
Assist in Developing and Executing Student Life Groups
- Assist in developing a vision and long-range plan for Student Life Groups.
- Assist in the weekly execution of Student Life Groups.
- Build relationships with Adult Life Group Leaders and provide resources, council, and pastoral care to help equip and encourage them as they lead students
- Cast vision throughout the ministry about Student Life Groups and the call to make disciples that make disciples.
Mobilize Students and Adult Leaders to Participate in Missions and Evangelism
- Cast vision throughout the ministry about missions and evangelism as a part of the call to make disciples that make disciples.
- Coordinate with existing Heights Students missions partnerships to provide three mission trip opportunities each year.
- Recruit, equip, and train students and adult leaders to serve on those mission trip opportunities.
- Work with Adult Student Life Group Leaders to create service opportunities for their Life Groups.
- Develop a culture of evangelism within the students attending Heights Students.
- Collaborate with other churches and outside organizations to provide regular opportunities for students to share their faith in their schools.
Partner with Lead Student Pastor to Plan and Execute Student Events
- Ensure all events are rooted in and oriented towards the overarching goals of the Student Ministry and larger Heights Church vision.
- Brainstorm and plan gospel-centered events that accomplish their intended goal.
- Collaborate with the Student Team to plan and execute these events.
- Aid in the evaluation of the success of all events after they are run through honest and constructive feedback.
Develop strategic and annual ministry plans, including goals and objectives and appropriate measurements of achievement that support the mission and vision of the church.
- Partner with the Student Team to periodically assess the health of the student ministry and create a plan for the continued care and shepherding of leaders and students.
- Give honest and open feedback about the state of the Student Ministry.
- Help oversee the annual calendar and ensure it is in keeping with the pulse of the larger church body as well as ensuring it positions us to best minister to and serve our students.
Provide pastoral care for students in an effort to walk with them through the difficult transitions of adolescence.
- Be accessible to students of all grades who are in need of a pastoral presence in their life.
- Help resolve any conflict or escalating situations within the Student Body.
- Participate in pastoral care meetings with students on a consistent basis, in addition to standing discipling relationships.
- Ensure students feel safe and welcomed in the Student Ministry through cultivating a culture of hospitality and encouraging others to do the same.
Ensure Accurate, Timely Response to Communication Requests (Phone or Email)
- Manage email, voicemail, and communication requests in a timely, thorough manner not to exceed 1 week

RELATIONSHIPS
Executive Pastor of Ministries: The Associate Student Minister reports ultimately to the Executive Pastor of Ministries. He/she is expected to be coachable, available, and responsive to him/her while striving for a healthy, Christ-like relationship characterized by love, truth, and unity.
Student Pastor: The Associate Student Minister reports directly to the Lead Student Pastor first and foremost. He/she is expected to be coachable, available, and responsive to him/her while striving for a healthy, Christ-like relationship characterized by love, truth, and unity.
The Heights Staff: The Associate Student Minister collaborates with other members of The Heights and student staff, serves as a resource and encouragement to them, and partners with them effectively to achieve maximum kingdom impact.
Adult Volunteers: The Associate Student Minister embodies and exhibits servant leadership in all interactions with volunteer team members, envisioning, equipping, and empowering them to make the greatest kingdom impact possible.
