The Student Ministry Assistant helps ensure the Student Pastor functions as effectively and efficiently as possible by managing administrative responsibilities and supporting ministry initiatives from start to finish. This person plays a vital role in recruiting, equipping, and leading our Student Ministry Volunteer Teams, coordinating impactful events, and using logistical and communication skills to support ministry momentum.

THE RESPONSIBLITIES OF THE JOB
- Provide Calendaring, Administrative, and Operational Support for Heights Students
What are we talking about? You’re the engine behind the Student Ministry machine. You’ll support the Student Pastor and team by handling the details that keep everything running smoothly: calendars, newsletters, headcounts, check-ins, Planning Center, and even Spiceworks maintenance requests (yes, that’s a thing). You’ll also bring warmth and presence to our students, leaders, and parents by being a welcoming face and calm presence. Whether it’s prepping for big events like XA or Camp, keeping our budget organized, or helping out wherever needed, you’re the glue that holds things together.
The Bottom Line: Handle the logistics and keep the team humming so ministry can happen with excellence and energy.

That means staying on top of credit card statements and reimbursements, managing their calendar like a pro, and making sure they have regular face time with leaders by scheduling lunches and check-ins. You don’t just manage time, instead you multiply ministry effectiveness by keeping everything in sync.

THE RELATIONSHIPS OF THE JOB
Executive Pastor of Ministries: The Student Ministry Assistant directly reports to the Executive Pastor of Ministries. You will receive equipping and encouragement from the Executive Pastor of Ministries in order to better operate out of your calling, while you both strive to champion each other above yourselves.
Student Pastor: The Student Ministry Assistant reports directly to the Student Pastor. They are expected to coach, be available, and lead this staff member.
The Student Ministry Team: The Student Ministry Assistant is a trusted member of the Student Team and frequently collaborates with other members of the team.
The Heights Staff: The Student Ministry Assistant frequently collaborates with other members of The Heights Staff. Our staff is a team of teams, so we all champion as well as equip and encourage each other as we live out of our callings.
Students and Parents: The Student Ministry Assistant embodies and exhibits the values of CEO’S in all interaction with students and parents.
