Job Summary:
A Yard Foreman supervises yard operations for safety, quality, and efficiency. The Yard Foreman oversees all hauling, launching, and moving of vessels in the yard. The Yard Foreman supervises and performs general yard and heavy equipment duties under the supervision of the General Manager. Candidate understands yard logistics and overall goals and expectations and performs duties efficiently to schedule and budget. Candidate is also responsible for supervising the team (hauling crew and bottom painters).
Essential Duties:
· Manages the yard crew and ensures daily tasks are being completed
· Possesses the ability to assess a situation and resolve on own
· Coaches and provides technical expertise to resolve work flow issues and creates and ensures corrective actions are implemented
· Trains yard crew employees in the safe and proper operation of all equipment and the proper method of blocking boats
· Safely operates multiple types of heavy equipment to move vessels and materials to designated work, storage and sales areas
· Has on-the water and boat handling experience
· Assists in conducting Sea trials
· Oversees the coordination of and removal of vessels from water, using Travel Lifts, forklifts and Travel Lift Transporter; moving to and from storage and positioning/securing correctly according to size, weight and weight distribution.
· Maintains and updates yard communication tools
· Understands tide schedules and coordinates yard activity accordingly
· Manages yard space allocation and coordinates with Operations Manager.
· Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations during all yard activity and maintains safe, clean work area
· All work to be performed to Hinckley Company quality standards.
· Perform other related duties as necessary and assigned.
Requirements

· 3 years Marine Supervisory Experience
· 3 years’ experience with marine travel lift, launch duties, forklift and other heavy-duty equipment in a boat yard/yacht environment.
· Fork lift certification
- Ability to communicate in a polite and clear manor in high stress situations
- Experienced with a travel lift
