Safety and Compliance Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Fleet and Safety Manager, the Safety and Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations by developing and implementing safety and compliance audit plans, programs, and procedures. The role requires conducting audits of facilities, equipment, processes, and procedures to identify potential safety and compliance issues and developing recommendations for improvement. Additionally, the Safety and Compliance Manager will be responsible for educating employees on safety and compliance issues, regulations, and best practices, and coordinating with other departments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a culture of safety. The role also requires preparing and presenting reports on audit findings, accidents, and violations, and participating in regulatory inspections and inquiries from regulatory agencies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Audit and Assessment

• Develops and implements safety and compliance audit plans, programs, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Conducts audits of facilities, equipment, processes, and procedures to identify potential safety and compliance issues and develop recommendations for improvement.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of existing safety and compliance programs and recommend changes, as necessary.
• Reviews and analyzes data related to safety and compliance, including incident reports, injury statistics, and regulatory requirements.
  Routinely conducts risk assessments and enforce preventative measures.
• Identifies process bottlenecks and offers timely solutions.
• Verifies that all team members are adhering to rules, regulations, and safety policies.

Education and Training:

• Trains and educates employees on safety and compliance issues, regulations, and best practices to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
• Prepares educational materials.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders, such as operations and legal, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a culture of safety.
• Advises and leads team members on various safety-related topics.
• Coordinates with supply chain team for vehicle safety equipment, as needed.

Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepares and presents reports on audit findings, including recommendations for corrective action and follow-up procedures.
• Prepares and presents reports on accidents and violations and identify root cause.
• Participates in regulatory inspections and respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies, as necessary.
• Monitors accident claims and provide guidance, as needed.
• Participates in and prepare review boards for accidents and incidents.

Other:

• Partners with the Fleet and Safety Manager to plan and implement OHS policies and programs.
• Oversees workplace repair, installations, and any other work relative to team member safety.
• Provides business licenses and utility statements as requested by leasing partners.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree, preferred. 
• Two (2) or more years of experience as a Safety and Compliance Manager or similar role. 
• Certificate in occupational health and safety strongly desired. 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• This role will require travel up to 50% of the worked time.
