What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coach, Soccer position at The J?
Description
The J is hiring energetic Soccer Coaches for the Spring soccer season. Our Coaches oversee all aspects of the youth soccer program, which can include serving as a customer service point-of-contact, coach, or referee. The J’s soccer program emphasizes fun, safety and convenience and teaches the value of good sportsmanship. Experience as a coach/player/referee is preferred, but not mandatory.
Schedule
We are hiring reliable part-time staff for 5-10 hours per week to lead soccer practices for 5-10 year old's on weeknights and to coach games on weekends. Other opportunities may also present themselves.
Essential Functions
- Coach soccer classes, practices, and games for ages 5-10
- Transport balls and equipment between multiple soccer sites
- Supervise children ages 5 to 10 years old
- $18-22/session
Requirements
- Experience working with children preferred
- Experience as a coach/referee/player is preferred
- Knowledge of soccer and its rules
- Able to work a flexible schedule
- Must have reliable transportation
Physical Requirements
- Constant standing, walking and exposure to the weather outdoors
- Frequent walking/running, eye/hand/foot coordination, talking and hearing to demonstrate and execute skills
- Occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs. to move equipment as needed
