What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Associate position at The Maker and Merchant?
The Maker and Merchant is a gift and clothing boutique featuring small businesses and makers. We combine traditional retail with an upscale vendor marketplace to create a unique local shopping experience.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Vendor Knowledge & Communication
Understands store concept and vendor structure
Develops knowledge of vendors in the store, who they are and what they sell
Welcomes vendors in the store, provides assistance and contributes to a positive vendor experience
Helps vendors in tagging, merchandising, and restocking as needed
Day to Day Shift Expectations
Comfortable checking out customers; Understands how to ring up and complete credit, cash and gift card transactions
Able to load and print barcode labels for vendor inventory and Maker and Merchant Collection Inventory
Knows where Point-of-Sale Guide are kept for referencing unique transactions and troubleshooting
Understands and performs day to day duties as outlined in the Store Manual
If scheduled, regularly performs opening and/or closing duties to completion
The Maker and Merchant Collection Inventory
Assists with inventory processing including unboxing, tagging, and merchandising
Able to identify Maker and Merchant Collection Inventory throughout the store
Customer Service
Understands and upholds the Rule of Three and other customer service policies
Assists customers with dressing rooms and shopping baskets
Contributes to a positive shopping environment for employees, shoppers and vendors
Store Visuals & Merchandising
Understands and performs restocking needs for both vendor and Maker and Merchant Collection inventory
Understands and performs store recovery
Assists with merchandising of sections, windows and mannequins
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $11.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
