A Maintenance Aide is responsible for the general safety and security of the nursing facility, furnishings and equipment. This position provides maintenance management through regular equipment inspections, while upholding facility maintenance inspection processes and procedures and attending to all daily maintenance requests for each department.
Requirements:
- Minimum 18 years of age; high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Excellent customer service skills
- Valid NYS Driver's License
- Able to work with tools, ladders and maintenance supplies as directed
- Able to work under minimum supervision, while cooperating with departmental heads and other staff members
- Problem solving skills in maintenance requests
- Good physical strength for heavy lifting and other related tasks
- Respect for residents privacy and rights; display of genuine concern and empathy for the elderly
- Ability to read and understand work assignments, as well as report verbally and provide written documentation as necessary
- Able to perform tasks while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness and kindness
- Qualities of responsibility and diplomacy
