Job Overview
The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa is seeking experienced Housekeeping Supervisors to work with our team of dedicated individuals who provide the daily care and upkeep of our Historic Mission Inn guest rooms and public areas. At the Mission Inn Hotel & Spa we seek to work with people who are responsible, reliable and will contribute to a healthy and productive work environment.
Our Housekeeping Supervisors will provide exceptional customer service by ensuring our guests have clean and beautifully appointed rooms & public areas. The successful Housekeeping Supervisor will always strive to set up their teams/peers for success through proactive, hands-on, lead-by-example approach. To be successful in this role, you should have a good understanding of sanitation regulations and proven experience in a lead or supervisory role. This role is for individuals who will thrive in a fast-paced environment while effectively managing priorities, delegating equitably, and delivering on-time results. Hotel Experience required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect all areas on their assigned floor for cleanliness and comfort as well as ensuring cleanliness is up to standards that all areas are operational (door, telephone, ice machines, etc. all in working condition)
- Report all maintenance malfunctions and ensure it is logged in Guestware.
- Delegate any request or new projects for Room Attendants, Housemen, Project and Lobby Attendant.
- Ensure that their floor’s guestroom statuses are updated throughout the day by. All rooms should be updated prior to 4:00pm
- Update all Queued rooms in a timely manner.
- Ensure professional and respectful communication with the Housekeeping Dispatching team and the other associates of the department.
- Ensure familiarity with the layout of the entire hotel and the amenities available for guests.
- Inspect Housekeeping equipment to ensure it is in good working condition and is clean for a nice appearance.
- Keep close communication with Housekeeping Manager and Housekeeping Coordinators to notify them of supplies needed or supplies in need of replenishment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of five years of hotel housekeeping experience and two years of supervisory experience in which training and direction was provided is required.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of housekeeping cleaning, checklists, scheduling protocols and best practices.
- Experience with inventory tracking and control.
- Ability and willingness to work scheduled shifts, which may include flexible week-day shifts, weekends, holidays and especially during our Festival of Lights season (November – January).
- Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and products
- Fluent in English. Bi-lingual in Spanish is preferred, but not required.
- Basic math skills required.
- Must be able to meet physical expectations of role including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, bending, speaking, hearing, seeing, and navigating crowded venues and uneven surfaces.
- Must be willing and able to adhere to all health & Safety protocols
