We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and development of next-generation robotic surgical systems.

Position Summary :

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead the design, analysis, and testing of complex mechanical and machine components for our surgical robotic platforms. You will work cross-functionally with engineers, clinicians, and manufacturing teams to ensure that our systems meet rigorous performance, reliability, and safety standards. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled engineer to make a significant impact in a rapidly growing industry.

Key Responsibilities :

Mechanical Design & Development :
Design precision mechanisms, robotic components, and machine systems with a focus on reliability, manufacturability, and compactness.
Develop detailed CAD models and engineering drawings using industry-standard tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo).
Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes, including machining, injection molding, 3D printing, and sheet metal.

Technical Leadership :

Lead mechanical design efforts for complex subsystems, ensuring integration with electrical, software, and other mechanical components.

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to ensure design excellence.

Collaborate closely with project management to define project goals, timelines, and deliverables.

Analysis & Simulation :

Perform stress, thermal, and kinematic analyses using FEA and other tools to validate designs.

Optimize designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability.

Testing & Validation :

Develop and execute test plans to validate system performance and reliability.

Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement design changes as necessary.

Compliance & Documentation :

Ensure designs comply with applicable medical device standards (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC 60601).

Generate comprehensive technical documentation to support design transfer and regulatory submissions.

Qualifications : Required :

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).

8 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the medical device or robotics industry.

Expertise in machine design, including actuators, gear systems, and mechanisms.

Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus).

Strong understanding of materials science and manufacturing processes.

Experience in designing for high precision and reliability in regulated environments.

Preferred :

Knowledge of robotic systems, including kinematics, dynamics, and control systems.

Familiarity with cleanroom manufacturing and biocompatible materials.

Hands-on prototyping and testing experience.
