Description
The Museum School of Avondale Estates seeks a qualified, motivated, and passionate part-time After School Program Instructor (C.R.E.W.) . Instructors work up to 4 hours per day (2:30 pm - 6:30 pm).
The mission of The Museum School of Avondale Estates is to inspire students, teachers, and the community to collaborate to develop strong critical thinking, interpersonal, and academic skills in our students, which will prepare them for real-world success. The Museum School offers the accessibility of a public school with the organizational and curricular innovation of a museum school model. Beginning at the neighborhood level, students develop a strong sense of community, independence, responsibility, and respect for the impact of their decisions and actions on others. These skills will inspire them with the confidence to identify and manage problems at the local and global level.
Requirements
- Two (2) years of experience working with children
- Experience in education, youth development, or a related field (Preferred)
- Demonstrated involvement and commitment to the youth community;
- Strong classroom management/behavior management skills;
- Strong commitment to the program and students;
- Punctuality and professionalism
Responsibilities
- Supervise students daily, actively engaging them in programs, activities, and projects
- Assist students with reading and homework assignments
- Monitor and assist students during enrichment courses
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, performances, presentations, etc. as required
- Other duties and responsibilities as determined
