What are the responsibilities and job description for the Education Program Specialist position at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center?
Serves as Education Specialist for Clinical Education in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the Ohio State University. Collaborates with Clinical Coordination Committee and Clinical coordinators with in each educational program to implement projects related to the clinical curriculum for the School. Facilitates relationships with external clinical partners, OSU Legal Department and OSU Student Health. Serves as the main communication liaison for contracts between SHRS, clinical partners, and OSU legal department using Medtrac software system to initiate new or renew clinical affiliate agreements for SHRS divisions; routes and tracks approval workflow of agreements; monitors expiration dates of agreements; maintains paper and data files; organizes and maintains site lists and contracts under all agreements. Serves as primary liaison between SHRS and Student Health; oversees clinical education computer software systems ( eValue, Exxat ) to continuously update, monitor and maintain clinical affiliation agreements; student compliance with contract requirements; and demographic information across all divisions within the school; Responsible for assuring all background checks are complete for professional students in SHRS and maintains the required communication between medical center ID processing, vendors for background checks and students. Serves as the main liaison between SHRS and the vendor eValue/Exxat to resolve any issues with the IT software systems. . This position requires an an individual that is an excellent communicator, is detail-oriented, and works well within a team. . Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required; experience in program planning and administration is required, preferably in an academic setting related to undergraduate or graduate medical education; experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point desired; experience managing information in web-based software applications desired; knowledge of evaluation, assessment, and data management desired. Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen
