Job Description
Scope of Position:
This position drives and executes the management and formulation of strategic and business planning, market analyses, forecasting and performance management for the OSU Wexner Medical Center across all mission areas and organizational entities including the Health System, College of Medicine and Faculty Group Practice. The individual collaborates with senior leaders to initiate, advise, execute, and manage planning strategies and programs that align with the Medical Center's Strategic Goals.
Position Summary:
The position will lead the formulation of business and strategic plans, developing market and other data analyses to support Medical Center leadership's strategic decisions, providing accurate forecasts for his/her respective programs, and leading the development and management of performance measurement systems.
External to the department, this position serves as advisor to program leaders to proactively provide data and strategic information that assists with program planning, environmental trend analyses, and development of program's vision, strategic goals, and program priorities.
Internal to the department, this position drives strategic and business planning development, analytics, forecasting, and performance management. In addition, this position engages with internal team members as well as administrative director to carry out special projects when needed. Ensures that development initiatives are on track and analysts/students are actively involved and productive in projects. The Strategic Planning Manager also serves as a coach and mentor while providing meaningful objectives and work for department student interns.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's of Health Administration or Business Administration. Minimum 4 years of experience required. Healthcare industry preferred. Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of business with working knowledge of strategic planning and processes. Analytical and written/oral communication skills - must be able to facilitate discussions with senior leaders and stakeholders. Proven ability to complete a complex financial analysis. Highly proficient with computer information systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Ability to work independently with minimal guidance. Ability to influence the thinking of others. In-depth knowledge of the Hospital Industry and Healthcare environment.
