Using excellent customer service and communications skills, your primary duties in this role include:
- Responsible for all phases of preparation of pathology specimens, including accessioning, grossing, processing, embedding, and slide preparation.
- Quality control, quality assurance, instrument maintenance, and technical problem resolution.
- Providing optimal specimen processing with positive outcomes while observing cost containment, privacy, and safety issues.
- Troubleshoots procedures and instrumentation, performs preventative maintenance on equipment, and manages laboratory equipment and supplies cost-effectively.
- Maintains accurate and complete logs, testing records, and resolves discrepancies with relevant staff, prioritizing workflow to maximize productivity goals.
- Prepares and hosts inspections and coordinates with the business office or other staff to ensure proper pathology billing.
- Other duties as assigned.
Hiring range, based on experience and credentials:
- Level I: $33.76-$45.68 per hour.
- Level II: $38.13-$57.20 per hour.
Qualifications that support success in this role are based on education, experience and values including:
- Completion of an associate degree in Applied Arts/Science or a bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a histology laboratory is strongly preferred. IHC experience is a plus!
- American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Certification, or equivalency, as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) is required.
- Must have documented training consistent with CLIA 88 requirements for the position held. This is to be reflective of the scope of practice and standards of practice in regular scheduled responsibilities and pay grade meeting all the HCFA-CLIA 88 requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask.
- Excellent attendance and work ethic.

- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians and other team members.

Salary : $34 - $57
