Dog Grooming Apprentice

Posh Puppy Spa & Boutique is looking to add a grooming apprentice to our team that is willing to work with all types of dogs to provide the services needed to keep them healthy, happy, and looking great! Candidates must be willing to learn the grooming profession as this is a position that eventually leads to becoming a professional groomer. Must be available to work a Full-Time position. We are interested in a team player that is willing to contribute towards our shop's success.

This position will be a great opportunity for someone who is wanting to pursue a career in pet grooming and is looking for a good place to start their journey.

We highly value continuing our education and are looking for a candidate who will be willing to continue learning and training in this position. We regularly attend grooming seminars and expos as a team. We are looking for someone who can maintain a safe and clean work environment and who is a self-starter and highly motivated to provide quality service with excellent customer service skills!

Hours: FULL-TIME, Tuesday through Saturday. Your schedule will depend on your skill, speed, and willingness to learn. Start time will be 8:45 am and Saturday availability is a *MUST*.

About Posh Puppy: We are a growing full-service salon with 4 established groomers and a great bather team. We are booking out months in advance. Our clients are all kind and generous people who prebook their appointments regularly and most pre-book their appointments up to a year in advance. We value safety and good experiences for the pets in our care over all. We keep our salon clean and calm to promote a relaxed environment for both employees and dogs. We are excited at the prospect of bringing a new person into our team!

Responsibilities:

We will go more into detail about the responsibilities of this position during the interview process. But the general responsibilities of the position are listed below:

Providing grooming services to dogs on your schedule in a manner that is consistent with our salon's standards for quality and safety.

Answering the phone and scheduling appointments as necessary.

Maintain a detailed record of all services performed on all pets in our salon.

Requirements:

Must be able to pass a thorough background check.

Must have reliable transportation (Valid Driver's License and a car)

Must be willing to purchase your own grooming tools over time. (we can provide tools temporarily until you are able to get your own)

Must be comfortable standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Must have excellent customer service skills in person and over the phone.

Must be comfortable working with all breeds of dogs.

Must be able to assist with general cleaning/sanitation of the salon on a daily basis.

Pay: From $16.28 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
