GENERAL DESCRIPTION (1-3 LINES DESCRIBING ROLE):
Assistant Group Leaders will be responsible for interacting with the children in a positive manner and assist in activities, clean up and upkeep of the Extended Day space. The Assistant Group Leaders will always be teamed with a Group Leader or Site Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least age 16 or above (work permit required if necessary)
- Desire to promote the growth and development of students.
- Consistent and on-time attendance is required for supervision of the students
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES (NOT LIMITED TO):
- Assist in the planned activities which may include preparation.
- To have a flexible attitude so that you can develop or change activities to meet the needs of the children
- Treat children with dignity and respect.
- Assisting in the general housekeeping of the room; including the ordered arrangement, appearance and décor.
- Attending all staff meetings and mandatory training sessions including CPR and First Aid.
- Maintaining a positive relationship with parents; greeting them each day as they arrive to pick-up their child.
- Implementing planned projects such as cooking, art, science, music, and drama with large or small groups of children.
- Assisting in establishing a daily routine that include both indoor and outdoor activities, projects, games, special interest groups and dramatic play.
- Contribute to yearly progress reports on extended day students
- Fulfill the required amount of Professional Development
- Consistent and on-time attendance is required for supervision and instruction of the students
- Other duties as needed
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Work is performed in school environments
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 15 pounds
- Sufficient mobility to navigate within a large school building
