Position Title: Break Time Behavior Specialist
Department: FSSP
Reports to: Break Time MANDT Trainer
FLSA: Non-exempt, flex
Supervisor responsibilities: No
Starting Rate: $210.00-$341.45 per Break Time event

General Description:
To support the Break Time respite program for children and adults with developmental disabilities and their
families/caregivers by providing behavior support at Break Time sessions.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides behavioral consultation and support to Break Time Volunteers and Staff to support the participation and positive engagement of children in attendance at group sessions.
- Reviews applications for Break Time sessions prior to the scheduled date to understand the behavioral needs of participants attending each session.
- Prepares and facilitate on the job staff and volunteer training/program modeling for each participants behavioral needs.
- Assists in overseeing and providing consultation in behavioral strategies to parents or guardians of participants, as needed or requested.
- Utilizes past experience, knowledge and skills to develop and implement behavioral strategies for new participants each session.
- Strong verbal and phone communication skills required.
- Completes necessary documentation of incidents that occur during sessions according to program requirements.
- Utilizes evidence-based practices and strategies that support effective respite environment and interactions.
Job Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Minimum:
- Strong oral and written communication skills; exceptional listening skills.
- Willingness and ability to work in a fast paced and high energy environment.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate responsibility and efficiency in work.
- Effective teaming skills
- Spanish-speaking ability preferred, but not mandatory.
- Ability to meet TRE driving requirements.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum: BCBA, BCaBA, or CDE Specialty credential demonstrating expertise in working with young children with Autism. Experience working with families of children with special needs, with an appreciation for the challenges they face daily.
Preferred: Training and expertise in the application of Applied Behavioral Analysis and other appropriate and evidence-based behavioral supports.
Material and Equipment Directly Used: Computers/tablets, Printers, Copy Machines, Personal Vehicle, Cell phones/telephone, Cloud based systems and software, etc.
Working Environment/Physical Activities: Office, community, private residences, commercial properties, and virtual environment settings. Moderate physical activity required, such as walking, sitting, standing, and lifting up to 20 pounds. A working vehicle, valid CO drivers license (unless active Military family), and minimum insurance levels ($100,000/$300,000/$100,000 liability coverage) are required.
