Schebler, an employee-owned (ESOP) company, is seeking a dedicated Production Scheduling Assistant to join our dynamic Production team. Under the guidance of the Planning and Process Engineer, this role is crucial in coordinating order processes, maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routings, and assisting in the preparation and scheduling of manufacturing work orders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the order process flow from acceptance to shipment, ensuring timely updates and communication.
  • Maintain and organize documents related to sales orders and shipment processing.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining BOMs and routings in the ERP system.
  • Prepare and issue shop work orders as directed by the Planning and Process Engineer.
  • Assist with scheduling manufacturing tasks by coordinating with relevant departments.
  • Act as a liaison to communicate with customers regarding their forecast and delivery requirements.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of labor and material forecasting processes by collecting and organizing relevant data.
  • Create data check points and processes to ensure integrity of production reporting, labor efficiency, inventory reporting, and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, purchasing, and finance to establish and maintain appropriate safety stock levels and reorder points.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report concerns.
  • Assist the Engineer with basic IT support throughout the organization.
  • Support the Engineer with ad hoc projects and tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in business or related field preferred.
  • At least 1-year related experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
  • Basic understanding of an ERP system preferred.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing environments and material flow preferred.
  • Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers and copiers.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers and employees.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift and carry computer equipment, including desktops, monitors, and peripherals, weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching to set up or troubleshoot computer systems.
  • Ability to crawl under desks and maneuver in tight spaces to connect and disconnect hardware.
  • Dexterity and coordination to handle small tools and parts for computer assembly and repair.
  • Clear vision to read and troubleshoot computer screens and small text.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively in both speaking and writing.
  • Ability to communicate information clearly in both speaking and writing.
  • Must be able to see details at close range.
  • Ability to move throughout the office area to assist customers and coworkers.
