What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapist Assistant position at The Treehouse Child Care Center?
Position Summary:
Part Time or Full Time options! Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the OTA will assist in delivering direct therapy services to preschool-aged children in alignment with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Services will be provided within the classroom and/or one-on-one, depending on the child’s needs.
Responsibilities Include:
- Implementing treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Supporting children with fine motor, sensory, and self-help skill development
- Collaborating with teachers and staff to embed OT strategies into classroom routines
- Documenting progress and assisting in preparation of reports and updates for IEP reviews
- Assisting in maintaining therapy materials and creating adaptive supports for classroom use
- Participating in team meetings, CPSE conferences, and parent communications as needed
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree from an approved Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
- Experience with young children, preferably in an early childhood or educational setting
- Familiarity with IEPs and the special education process
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- A passion for child development and inclusive education
