Position Summary:
The Pediatric Physical Therapist will provide therapy services to preschool-aged children (3–5 years old) with a range of physical and developmental needs. Services will be delivered in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with special education staff, related service providers, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct physical therapy assessments and evaluations
- Develop individualized treatment plans in alignment with IEP goals
- Provide direct therapy services in classroom or one-on-one settings
- Collaborate with teachers, aides, and therapists to support integrated goals
- Track progress, maintain documentation, and submit reports as required by CPSE and NYSED
- Participate in team meetings, CPSE reviews, and family consultations
- Provide education and training to staff on movement-based supports and classroom adaptations
Qualifications:
- NYS Licensure as a Physical Therapist
- Experience working with young children (birth–5), particularly in educational or pediatric settings
- Knowledge of CPSE processes, IEP development, and early childhood best practices
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to inclusive education and child-centered therapy
