Job Title: Access Control Patrolman
Reports to: Access Control Supervisor
Department: Operations
Categories: Operations and Customer Service (and Switchboard)
Work Days/Hours: 5 days/week (schedule varies)40 hours3pm-11pm, Daily11pm-7am, Daily7am-3pm, Saturday and Sunday
Dress Code: Uniform provided and laundered by The Westchester.
Clean and tidy appearance is required at all times.
Hourly/Salary/Range: $15.50 - $18.00/hour
Eligible for annual pay increase and merit bonus.
Summary Access Control Patrolmen walk the property by doing multiple rounds per shift. They report building maintenance issues such as lights out and ensure perimeter and other restricted access doors are closed and secured throughout the property. Access ControlPatrolmen survey the property to ensure that common areas, parking lots and garages are being utilized appropriately by authorized patrons. Also serve as back upSwitchboard operators and must be familiar with switchboard operations and procedures and BuildingLink software. Patrolmen are frontline responders in the event of emergencies and are responsible to direct Member Owners to safely evacuate as need in accordance with emergency guidelines.
Main Responsibilities/Essential Functions and Duties
- Patrols the grounds and buildings in pre-determined/established route.
- Using the BuildingLink work order system, reports lights out or other maintenance or safety issues observed during patrols.
- Patrols parking lot to ensure all vehicles are properly permitted and issues to violation notices as needed.
- Serves as switchboard operator periodically as needed to relieve the switchboard operator for lunch, breaks or emergencies
- Patrols garages and checks bicycle storage cages to ensure only authorized individuals are present and that storage cages are secured
- Assists Member Owners with lock outs, guest access and other services as needed
- Assists guests as requested by Member Owners or as needed
- Serve as point of contact for police, fire and other emergency personnel
- Assists with ice melt application as needed, walkways, building entrances, driveways and garage entrances

Education, Experience and Skills
- HS Diploma or Equivalent
- 1-3 year experience working in Access Control or Security
- 1-3 years experience working in residential environment preferred.
- Good customer service and interpersonal communications skills
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbally.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proven ability to work as part of a team
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to stoop, bend, push, pull and reach frequently.
- Able to lift and carry up to 65lbs
