Position Summary
The Physical Therapist Assistant administers therapeutic interventions utilized in physical medicine to patients as directed by a physician and under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.
Essential Functions
-Performs treatments on patients at the scheduled time.
-Instructs and prepares the patient for the treatment.
-Applies the appropriate intervention based on plan of care.
-Monitors patients during treatments.
-Follows policy and procedure for charting/documentation.
-Provides information to supervising P.T. on an as needed basis.
-Assists in maintaining logs, charge tickets, and reports.
-Develops and instructs patients in home programs.
-Provides written treatment programs for days off and Saturdays.
-Performs DC planning under the supervision of the P.T.
-Monitors stock levels and orders supplies as needed.
-Assists with the maintenance of equipment.
-Supervises and directs rehabilitation technicians.
-Cleans equipment and returns it to storage if appropriate.
-Adheres to and follows all patient experience initiatives.
-Reports to and departs from work on time and as scheduled.
-Performs other duties as assigned.
-Must be able to deal with stress while maintaining composure.
-Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Work Experience
-One year experience as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant preferred.
Education
-Texas Physical Therapist Assistant License required.
-BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days of hire date required.
