The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium has been educating, inspiring, and providing enjoyment to our community for over 100 years. Join our team as a Merchandise Crew Member, where you'll work and have fun at the same time. As a part of the Merchandise Crew, you'll contribute to creating a safe, enjoyable and educational experience for our guests. This position is non-exempt part-time position under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Essential Job Functions *Duties will include, but are not limited to the following*
- Checking in and stocking merchandise, including a semi-annual inventory.
- Operating registers for sales of merchandise and for rental of guest equipment.
- Deliver strong customer service & communication skills.
- Oversee the penny presses, viewers, and hurricane machines.
- Taking direction and working independently and with a team.
- Approaching guests in a fun and positive manner.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work area.
Minimum Training & Qualifications:
- Work schedules may include evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have the physical ability to lift 35 pounds, work on your feet, and be able to walk the Zoo grounds for several hours at a time.
- You may also be exposed to inclement weather conditions such as heat in the summer or low temperatures in the winter at the outdoor stands.
- Retail sales and Counterpoint Register System experience is a plus!
- The Toledo Zoo is a drug-free workplace, including marijuana.
