Aerospace Technical Program Manager
Location: Manchester, CT
Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Salary: $110,000 – $150,000 (based on skills and experience)
Summary:
We are seeking a Technical Program Manager to drive engineering excellence and program success in the development and integration of aerospace propulsion systems. This individual will guide multi-disciplinary teams through the entire product lifecycle, from concept to production, while ensuring programs stay on schedule and within budget. The TPM will also manage customer relationships and align internal efforts with customer goals and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership:
- Apply aerospace engineering principles and technical expertise to propulsion system integration.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex challenges.
- Leverage business acumen to work closely with Finance in tracking project performance.
- Support and improve manufacturing operations by understanding workflows and shop floor processes.
- Utilize ERP and MES systems effectively.
- Drive lean manufacturing and industrial engineering initiatives.
Program Management:
- Plan and execute multi-phase aerospace programs (small and large-scale).
- Develop detailed project schedules, budgets, and scope documentation.
- Monitor program performance and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Deliver projects in alignment with customer expectations and technical requirements.
- Balance multiple active projects across development stages.
- Ensure compliance with FAA/EASA standards and integration into production environments.
Leadership & Communication:
- Lead teams with influence across functions and levels of the organization.
- Present project status, milestones, and strategies to executive leadership.
- Maintain strong internal and external stakeholder communication.
- Foster team collaboration in a small to mid-sized, fast-paced company environment.
Software & Tools:
- Experience using project management and CAD software.
- Familiarity with SmartSheet, ERP, and MES systems.
Industry Compliance:
- Deep knowledge of aerospace regulations and certifications (e.g., AS9100, FAA/EASA).
- Experience bringing certified aerospace products into production.
Qualifications:
- 5–7 years of technical project/program management in aerospace, automotive, or composites.
- Solid background in aerospace propulsion or aircraft systems design is preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience managing customer-facing programs and technical deliverables.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
