What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shift Supervisor position at TOPPAN Packaging Americas?
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, as a Shift Supervisor, you are accountable for; safety, quality, productivity, material handling, cost performance and employee relations for the shift assigned. The following list is not exhaustive, and the employee in this role is expected to be a leader and mentor on the team by managing through any and all duties assigned or needed to support our Customer’s needs.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the Toppan Safety Program and healthy work environment
- Support Quality initiatives based on customer specifications and needs
- Ensuring coordination of resources based on daily operational schedule
- Ensuring proper time and attendance of shift employees
- Meeting/exceeding performance metrics expectations based on machine and plant KPI’s
- Direct continuous improvement initiatives with effective utilization of Sonoco Performance System
- Ensuring communication and employee engagement
- Teach and lead the best manufacturing practices for assigned shift.
- Coordinate production scheduling on shift to meet customer demands, manage overtime, and reduce costs.
- Direct shift in continuous improvement initiatives and work to meet performance metrics using tools such as SPS, 6 Sigma, and lean manufacturing.
- Build and maintain productive relationships that foster employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Provide direction, training, and development of hourly employees on assigned shift as well as counseling or discipline as needed.

- Willing to work 12 hour shifts
- Supervisory experience working in a manufacturing environment
- 3-5 years in supervision or 10 years’ experience in Offset Printing.
- Associate’s degree preferred but not required
